What are SILS? (Supported Independent Living)
Supported independent living (SIL) is an NDIS funded model of shared accommodation. It can mean living with one or more people that have similar personalities, needs and are supported by our staff across aspects of daily living.
Our staff are there to help with supporting our participants with all areas of daily tasks in an independent or shared living environment. We focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as independently as possible.
The support is provided to each person living in the shared arrangement based on their support needs. Assistance is provided to our participants by including them, their family or advocate as part of their plan, through to choice of what support staff will assist them depending on the level of support they require to live independently in the housing option of their choice.
